Every Strength Training Program Starts with a Movement Assessment

Every facility assesses their athletes in different ways. At Accel, we take a very scientific approach to measuring performance. Using the most advanced technology in the region, we perform baseline movement assessments for every member who signs up for strength training in Germantown, TN.

These baseline movement assessments help us assess each member’s strengths and weaknesses. Our performance coaches use that information to build a personalized strength training plan that will help them achieve their performance goals.

FUSIONETICS MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT: This is where it all begins. The Fusionetics Movement Assessment is a bit of a show and tell. You show us a series of activities like squats or push-ups. We’ll upload the data to the cloud and the app will tell us (and you) the results of the assessment and your personalized corrective exercise. Every 10-12 weeks, we will test again to see what improvements you have made in your training program.

DORSAVI WEARABLE SENSOR TECHNOLOGY: This gives us a more in-depth look at your limits when you tire. We’ll push you—and this test will be strenuous—but it will give us a wider range of results. There are two tests we can do. For both the general movement and running assessment, you will wear the dorsaVi sensors while you exercise. Then, our coaches will analyze the data to create a custom plan for you.

TPI-CERTIFIED GOLF MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT: If you love to hit the links, then this assessment is for you. It provides a detailed analysis of golf specific movements that relate to your swing. Everything from hip movement to the slightest turn of your shoulders will be tracked and measured. Our performance coaches will use those swing characteristics to help determine personalized, corrective exercises to help improve your game.

Why Strength Training Matters

  • BETTER BALANCE: Working those core stabilizer muscles in your core and legs helps give you more control over your body. The more resistance training you do, the better your coordination and reaction times are. Strength training helps reduce fall risk and makes it easier to recover when you do stumble.

And for athletes, some strength-based exercises focus more on improving mobility and stability than just building strength. Practicing drills that condition them to safely perform these movements helps prevent injuries. They learn to maintain their balance while performing key movements of their sport with power and precision.
  • STRONGER BONES AND JOINTS: Research has shown that strength training helps us develop stronger bones. Repeated stress in a controlled environment gradually helps them become denser and stronger. That means fewer stress fractures and bone-related injuries.

Continuous training also makes muscles and tendons more resilient. Thus, your connective tissues and joints also have extra support. Over time, this makes it possible to continue training at any age.

  • BOOST METABOLISM: Because muscle is more metabolically active than fat, it burns more calories while you are at rest. As you train, you are building more lean muscle. This helps you body burn more energy all day, even when you are not active.

When you pair our strength training with expert nutritional consultations, you will learn how to fuel your body to enhance your performance. For both active adults and athletes, proper nutrition is essential to maximize your energy levels and training benefits. By eating well, you can train harder, reduce your risk of injury, and recover more efficiently.
